1) 42 metre, pre-stressed bridge beams cast by ABM Precast Solutions

2) Lowering the massive bridge beams into position at the Raith Interchange

3) One of the largest mobile cranes in the UK with a 1500 tonne capacity was required to lift the beams into place

4) Installation took place over three overnight operations, timed from midnight to four AM

5) ABM are supplying precast structures to six other bridges on the £500 million project

6) Each W beam was cast in purpose built heated moulds ensuring rapid uniform curing to achieve the 50 N/mm2 stress load transfer strength, with each beam having over 1,700 tonnes pre-stress load

7) The bridge beams were carried to site by Walker Haulage of Tuxford

8) Logistically challenging: manufacture, transportation and installation proceeded closely to plan
